A note on BBQ

We call it a braai here β€” not a BBQ. That word appears once on this site, and this is it. The Three Legs would expect nothing less.

Real boerewors flavour starts in the spice mix, not the butcher's shelf. This blend follows the Afrikaans-Dutch tradition that made wors the backbone of every South African braai: coriander leading, warm clove and nutmeg behind, black pepper and salt tying it together. Mix through fresh mince for homemade wors, season shop-bought sausages, or sprinkle over a coil on the grid.

South African heritage

Traditional wors spice β€” coriander, clove and nutmeg the way the Karoo made it.
