The 1200 is the centrepiece of the Kameel and Steel range and a genuinely multi-functional unit. Up top sits a proper top-burning South African braai with adjustable grid heights and a rotisserie motor and prong set, so you can spit-roast a leg of lamb, a pork joint or a whole chicken to perfection. Underneath, a rocket stove doubles as a convection oven — bake bread and puddings, slow-roast, or get a potjie or wok going on the heat. A door-mounted thermometer and slider covers let you regulate the oven exactly. Built from heavy-gauge, corrosion-resistant stainless steel and supplied with its flue pipe, cowl and a large stainless grid, it shrugs off Manx weather and stays out in the garden all year round. This is the fire you stand around long after the meat is done.
